Photo Challenge: Create

CREATE (June2012)

My story of “Chuchay” has been sitting on my table since its conception in 2009. Despite my desire to share it to the world of readers, its storyline did not pass the layers of scrutiny of a publishing company, and since that momentous blow (really just a little ego bruise), the thought of my Chuchay hasn’t even crossed my mind. That is, until I saw this week’s photo challenge, and was inspired by the theme. Immediately I pulled out my pencil and oil pastels, and with my neophyte illustrator’s skill, I gave life to “Chuchay,” again: my first attempt at crafting a children’s story.

  1. Hey P:

Let’s talk about your drawing. Your tiny girl has a wild groove going there. Hair, dress, lips all Florida neon. Is that a self portrait? Seriously on your book good luck, and let me know if it becomes an E-Book. HF

    • Lol! You made me laugh, HotFix. Thanks for making my day. Well, not a self-portrait. Although, I must admit, its storyline is inspired by my own Santacruzan experience. You will be the first one to know when I finish the illustration. It’s going to be a challenge, but I’m sure it’s going to be fun. Take care!

  2. Don’t give up, try another tactic.

  3. Continue with this one. Even if no publisher wants it, you will be happy to make it and to have it completed. Chuchay is waiting for her destiny. And you can put it up on your blog too if you wish. 🙂
Your drawing is pretty too. 🙂

  4. Complete it and shop it around. Gorgeous! 🙂
